Whimsie Doodles Inspiration - Valentine Chocolate Treat Boxes & More...

Hello Everyone!

Thank You for joining me over at the Whimsie Doodles Blog!

Can you believe today is the LAST day of January?! That only means that Valentine's Day is TWO weeks away! And to me that means its time to start working on those School Valentine Treats.

I found these adorable Treat Boxes by Beth from My Little Craft Blog and I IMMEDIATELY thought about the  Whimsie Doodles "Valentine Gift Tags"I however, cut out my Treat Boxes using my Cricut Expression and the Cricut Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 "Playing Cards Box" with a few alterations - Cricut Cut File available via comment request.

I love having my kids join in making with their classmate's treats and these adorable "Valentine Gift Tags" made it so easy for them to help out. They had SOO much fun coloring in all the different images - "Wild Monster", "Heart Race", and "School Fish" - and were so excited to be sharing their "coloring skills" with you all.

Each Chocolate Treat Box is embellished with some scraps left from the We R Memory Keepers Love Struck Paper Pad, Martha Stewart Heart Lace Punch, and a Button with different pieces of Twinery Twine - available at My Craft Spot. The lid is tucked in behind and held closed by the button.

I filled this Chocolate Treat Box with a Nestle Crunch Valentine Heart.

Several other pieces of candy also fit inside - a large Kit-Kat, two small Candy Bars, and a Fun Size M&M's.

I hope to see you use Whimsie Doodles "Valentine Gift Tags" on your Valentine Treats this year.

Shop Pumpkin Spice Challenge #4 - Blue Valentine

Hello Everyone,

In case you haven't heard, Shop Pumpkin Spice will be having weekly challenges with a NEW Theme EVERY Saturday!! For FULL details on Rules and Guidelines, please visit the Pumpkin Spice Blog.

This week's challenge is all about the BLUE, WHITE & ROUND! Simply create a NEW - no backlinking, please - card, layout, project, etc with the colors BLUE and WHITE - other colors welcomed - and an element that is ROUND - brads, buttons, sticker, etc.

~*~

I wasn't entirely sure which way to go with this challenge, until I saw the Deconstructing Sketch #86 by Jen Shults.

I immediately fell in love with all the ROUND Circles and the large middle Circle - ROUND - gave me a perfect excuse to use my  Sizzix Tim Holtz Rosette Die, I got from Shop Pumpkin Spice at a GREAT discounted price.

I used a few different pieces of Patterned Papers to make this card - all available at the ShopPumpkinSpice Store. The floral vine and polka dot background papers and the word printed circle are from the Carta Bella Devoted 6x6 Paper Pad. These papers are WONDERFUL to work with, the texture is AMAZING and have such a nice touch of BLUE color. I just didn't want to cut them up.

I used the second and third smallest dies from the  Spellbinders Nestabilities Large Circle Dies - available at Shop Pumpkin Spice via request - to cut out my Circles - ROUND - from BLUE and WHITE patterened papers.

The Paper Rosette was cut from a BLUE patterned paper from the Pink Paislee Declaration Collection I had in my stash. On top I added two small 1" Hearts cut with my Cricut from WHITE patterned paper. I inked the edges BLUE before running them thru my Xryon 1.5" Sticker Machine and using my Martha Stewart Glitter to make them sparkle. The BLUE "February 14" sentiment strip is from the Carta Bella Devoted Element Stickers Sheet.

For the inside of the card, I simply added some BLUE patterend paper from the Echo Park Paper A Boy's Life "Daydreamer" and left some blank space for a personal message.

Now, YOUR turn! Create a NEW - no backlinking, please - BLUE, WHITE & ROUND project and link it up to the Pumpkin Spice Blog by Friday, February 1st 11:59 PST for your chance to be this week's winner! I can't wait to see your project!

My Craft Spot Inspiration - Always & Forever

Hello Everyone!

I'm back today to share with you another Valentine's Day/Love Card I've made using My Craft Spot "Always & Forever" Stamp Set.

For today's card I used another one of my FAVORITE sentiments from this set, "Always & Forever". I stamped the sentiment onto a label frame cut from the Cricut Craft Room Basics at 1-3/4".

The card was based on this week's Deconstructed Sketch #85.

The solid background patterned paper is from the Echo Park Sweet Day Collection and the rest are from the My Mind's Eye Ruby Collection - both available at ShopPumpkinSpice.

Some of My Craft Spot's "Hot Pink" Crinkle Ribbon was used to make a double loop bow. The bow was centered with some "Kraft" Trendy Twine - available HERE at My Craft Spot - and a cream Mulberry Rose.

Following this week's My Craft Spot Monday Challenge #83 BLING IT UP, I cut a heart from the Cricut Craft Room Basics at 1" REAL ran it thru my Xryon 1.5" Sticker Machine and dusted it with some of Martha Stewart's GLITTER.

I also lightly misted the card with a bit of Tattered Angels "Pearl" Glimmer Mist - available at ShopPumpkinSpice-, but you can't really tell from the picture. A small cluster of Pearls(BLING) was added to the upper right corner of the card.

I will be listing this card in my Etsy Store and have decided to leave the inside blank so the buyer can choose either a "Happy Valentine's Day" Sentiment or "Happy Anniversary" Sentiment - both from the My Craft Spot "Always & Forever" Stamp Set.

I hope to have inspired you to My Craft Spot Stamps on your Valentine Cards!

If you haven't already joined us for this week's My Craft Spot Monday Challenge #83 BLING IT UP, you still have time!! The challenge remains open until Monday, January 28th 11:59PM MST.
